Tracey C. Bass

The Words Doctor, Tracey C. Bass is a warrior for women of color and her weapon is words. Known worldwide as “The Words Doctor”, this author, poetic-scholar, and performance artist performs at retreats, conferences, and events in Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, New York, California, and Central America. Tracey earned an M.A. in Practical Theology from Regent University and an M.A. in Communication from Eastern Michigan University. She is building her skills as a "media midwife" at Liberty University. Tracey connects theatre to activism to amplify marginalized voices one word at a time. Poetic Scholar, her book of evocative academic narratives hits the shelves in 2021.

Tracey Bass, Novelist

Tracey Bass self-published her first novel, Uncage My Love, in 2007, later published by Lumenus Publications, and showcased nationally as a film. Campus Martius Park featured Uncage My Love in the “2007 Ford Summer Film Series at the Park”. Tracey self-published her first non-fiction book, God’s Business Plan, in 2008. In 2014, Tracey and her husband co-authored and self-published a children’s book, Born to Be a Princess. I AM Media Books contracted Tracey Bass to write a personalized book series for girls and boys, including Born to Be a Princess (2019), Born to Reign (2021), and Born to Build (2021). In 2019, Tracey Bass led a team of authors, editors, and artists to publish We The People and launch a division offering personalized bereavement narratives for families called Buried Treazures. Her chapter “I Am My Sisters’ Keeper” appears in Womanist Ethical Rhetoric (2020). She specializes in professional editing, publication layout, and author development for women of color.
